]]>Thank you for your comments, Amanda. I could see and feel the difference post 1989 indeed. These are, of course, my personal experiences and observations, but yeah, suddenly Women’s Day seemed to have lost its ‘glamour’, focus and some felt almost relieved that they didn’t have to celebrate that day at all anymore. But I need to add that men in my family always send me their best wishes on that day and it’s nice: their gesture doesn’t take me back to the ‘old times’, but shows that they think about me that day!
